Shape Up Nashville is a community initiative that was created for our home city of Nashville, TN. It was created as a fun, participatory way to educate and inspire the community into living healthier and more successful lives.
Shape Up Nashville was launched in 2004. Shape Up Nashville 2004 focused solely on health and fitness and was a great success. For Shape Up Nashville 2005 we broadened our focus to include shaping up in all areas of your life such as shaping up your finances, your state of mind and your health.
Shape Up Nashville 2009/2011 will focus on creating health/wellness/success programming and events for children, teens and adults that stress the importance of exercise, healthy eating and maintaining focus to achieve goals.

Designed specifically for high school aged teens this program gives teens the tools to ‘accessorize’ themselves with the skill sets, behaviors and attitudes that will ensure success-oriented, result driven lives that make a difference. In a culture that emphasizes excess in material accessories as a status symbol it is important to school future generations in what is truly important for a successful, fulfilling life. It doesn’t matter what you drive, which cell phone you have or what jeans you wear if you can’t keep a promise and work hard at a project or a job. Skills, attitudes and behaviors covered in this program include:
•The ability to work hard
•Discipline
•Integrity
•Commitment
•Keeping your word
•Completing what you begin
•Goal setting
•Time management
•Gratitude
•Responsibility
•Execution strategies
•Generosity
•Stewardship

" John Withitall...our favorite guy in the diner"
This fund has been created to provide financial assistance to men from age
35 and up that could use a 'bridge' while they are getting their lives back together or overcoming difficult circumstances. This fund is meant to provide an influx of hope and light in temporary darkness...it is meant to remind good hardworking men that the LIGHT can ALWAYS overcome the darkness no matter what the circumstances.
The Guy In The Diner Fund has been created in memory of our dear friend and family member, John Withitall...who taught us how to carry on no matter what, to never complain, to always prevail and who was fond of reminding us, "It's ALL good, it's all good."
If you know someone who needs a gift from this fund please email us at info@agenerousheart.com.
Should you choose to contribute to this fund please print out our donation form and write “ The Guy In The Diner Fund” in the memo section of your check. Thank you. |
